Forte Nonprofit Consulting Services can elevate your sports expertise to nonprofit business expertise!

“Success on the field is only possible with success off the field.”
Our Services
Forte takes a holistic approach when evaluating a club’s operations, including examining bylaws, articles of incorporation and other founding documents, financial health, strategic planning, board engagement, marketing and communications clarity, brand engagement, social media prowess, and more.
Given this approach, Forte customizes its consulting services to address your organization’s specific needs, rather than applying a “cookie-cutter” approach that serves one and all. Our services include:
Operational Strategy
A nonprofit’s Operational Strategy functions as a grounded, day-to-day guide of detailed action items. Let us take a deep dive on your operations to find efficiencies and savings.
Strategic Planning
A strategic plan is an organization’s vision for its future, a guide that provides direction for a path forward. The real work in strategic planning is executing on the steps to achieve the dream. We can help you do that.
Financial Management
Whether you are an ED or board member, few things are as important as your club’s financial health. Forecast, anticipate, plan. Let us help you get up to speed!
Fundraising
Many are familiar with the nonprofit youth sports club fundraising playbook, but this is potentially risky business. What are these risks, and what steps can you take to mitigate against them? Let us share with you what we’ve learned.
Corporate Sponsorships
The keys to corporate sponsorship success are simple: building relationships and storytelling. You have to own your club’s narrative, and you have to be able to pitch to potential sponsors a narrative that will resonate with them. So, what’s your story?
Marketing & Communications
Your brand, your business identity, your business lifeblood – the ability to both maintain and grow your membership – are all tied to how clearly you market and communicate who and what you are. Let us review your current practices and offer solutions.
Risk Management & Insurance
Without risk management practices and insurance policies in place, all of your planning and hard work could blow over like a house of cards in the slightest breeze. We can teach you mitigation strategies and risk management practices.
Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement
Few nonprofits operate well without the love, support, and commitment of volunteers. So why is it that some orgs fail to attract and/or retain volunteers? There is telling data that shines a light here that you should be aware of if you lack a consistent volunteer pipeline. We can help.
Legal, Compliance, & Ethics
Nonprofit business best practices adhere to all relevant legal and ethical requirements. Do you know how these requirements vary for your organization? Like all other aspects of your business, this area requires time and attention and we can assist you.
Interim Executive Director
Forte Nonprofit Consulting can provide interim Executive Director services if you find your organization in a pinch. For more information, please reach out to us.
Ultimately, our goal is to assist your organization in becoming as efficient as possible in fulfilling your nonprofit’s mission. This is achieved by first identifying organizational pain points, and then developing business strategies to correct them, thus getting your nonprofit on the path to sustainability and growth.

About
I have worked in the nonprofit sector for over two decades. I have served on nonprofit boards, numerous board committees, including governance, finance, strategic planning, marketing & communications, fundraising, and corporate sponsorship. I worked for 13 years as the Executive Director at the largest competitive youth soccer club in Washington, managing a $6M annual budget and 150 employees. I have advised many nonprofit sports clubs across the country in an effort to share my knowledge and expertise with others, and in 2019 I served as an ambassador with the U.S. State Department’s Sports Diplomacy program in Israel to both gain and share nonprofit insights and successes with youth sports NGOs in Tel Aviv, Nazareth and Jerusalem.
I also served as president and field advocate for a local recreational soccer club in Seattle where I helped to secure $5.3M in field conversion funds via the 2008 City of Seattle Parks & Green Space levy. I also served as commissioner for 15 years on the board of Seattle Youth Soccer Association, the largest youth soccer association in Washington.
Prior to my nonprofit experience, I was employed in the financial services sector, and was also a small business owner. I hold a law degree from Seattle University School of Law.
I am very passionate about nonprofit business and all the good that they provide our communities. I am always in search of keys that unlock the doors to nonprofit business success, and I have learned many things towards that end. I look forward to working with you soon!
